All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) are informal cross-party groups that have no official status within Parliament. They are run by and for Members of the Commons and Lords, though many choose to involve individuals and organisations from outside Parliament in their administration and activities.

The group’s aim is to increase UK-China engagement and dialogue. The group wants the UK to challenge and compete with China; but also to cooperate with China including on policy areas such as AI regulation and safety, climate change, and trade and investment.

To promote mutual understanding and good relations between the UK and Germany and to facilitate meetings and contacts between parliamentarians of both countries.

To develop and improve links between the British and Japanese parliaments and encourage a deeper understanding of their respective cultures. The APPG also has an important role to play in promoting trade between the two countries.

To promote close relations between the parliaments and peoples of the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein; to foster a deeper understanding of our respective countries; and to promote close ties with the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation and the Honorary Consulate of the Principality of Liechtenstein.
