APPG officer roles
All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) are informal cross-party groups that have no official status within Parliament. They are run by and for Members of the Commons and Lords, though many choose to involve individuals and organisations from outside Parliament in their administration and activities.

Aid Match
To promote the scaling up of cost-effective aid policy and practice, namely proven aid matching mechanisms to unleash more funds, for more direct delivery to front line organisations. To inform debate and propose Real Aid recommendations and action towards reducing aid wastage to boost the impact of international development

To raise the profile of antibiotic resistance, the need to preserve antibiotics through education on their appropriate use including non-human uses, the lack of new treatments for bacterial infections and to help accelerate efforts to discover, research and develop new treatments.

To provide a forum for parliamentarians and employers to discuss how to promote the role of high quality apprenticeships.

Communities of Inquiry across the Generations
To provide practical models for conducting productive debates on difficult topics between young and old; to facilitate evidence-based, transformative discussions on equality and identity (e.g. race, faith, climate, migration); to interrogate 'culture wars' and ‘gesture politics' on and off campus; to create intergenerational communities of inquiry with parliamentarians, universities and young citizens.

To address, as a matter of national interest, power imbalances within the food supply chain and encourage fair margins and contract terms at every stage, from primary producer to retailer to secure the future of British food production.

To promote democracy and the rule of law, and to defend human rights in Hong Kong, to share information about Hong Kong, to nurture relations between the United Kingdom and the people of Hong Kong; and to provide a welcome to Hongkongers coming to the United Kingdom.

The group will meet to discuss and campaign on issues related to households living in temporary accommodation.

To raise awareness in parliament about immigration detention in the UK and its impacts; to connect parliamentarians with relevant research, organisations and experts, including people with lived experience of detention; and to advocate for evidence-based policy reforms and the welfare of detainees.

The group brings together members of the House of Lords and the House of Commons with the singular purpose to discuss issues relating to legal aid. The group meets regularly when parliament is sitting to discuss topics that are important in the legal aid sector and to hear from those that work within it.

In recognition of the transformative nature of the Metaverse and Web 3 technology with its profound effect on our society and the future of our children, the APPG will consider influence of its application on policy within parliament, industry, and society at large particularly regarding data protection, safeguarding system security as well as user safety.

To examine the capabilities and commitments driving contemporary warfare (including working by, with and through partners, use of drones and technological capabilities, and increase in covert operations) which are outpacing conventional oversight mechanisms and safeguarding regimes, and resulting in rising civilian casualties worldwide.

To raise awareness of the UK's woods and trees and to discuss the steps necessary to protect, restore and expand them in a time of climate and nature crises.

Working at Height
Falls from height and falling objects from height account for the highest number of preventable fatalities and injuries across all sectors in UK industry. The APPG will seek to understand the root causes and propose effective, sensible measures to reduce this toll and send people safely home from work.
