APPG officer roles
All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) are informal cross-party groups that have no official status within Parliament. They are run by and for Members of the Commons and Lords, though many choose to involve individuals and organisations from outside Parliament in their administration and activities.

Fire Safety and Rescue
To meet and consider important fire safety and rescue issues with appropriate specialists in these fields, consulting wider with other related agencies to create a safer built environment; contributing to fire safety events both inside and outside parliament, whilst raising issues of concern to government through its minsters.

Grid Networks
The APPG is focused on grid sustainability and resilience, policy and legislative challenges relating to power grid capacity in the UK; investment in National Grid infrastructure; planning policy and the development of energy infrastructure; emerging renewable energy systems; and the role of the public and private sector in power grid.

To generate a public policy environment where obesity is recognised and prioritised; hold government to account for the delivery of an obesity strategy; call for joined up commissioning that addresses obesity and delivers value for money; and use parliamentary means to provide focus across key elements of the pathway.

To act as a focal point for vaping issues with a clear focus on sector responsibility in addressing key issues, demonstrate the positive benefits in support of smoking cessation and support an evidence-based approach to vaping regulation.
