Baroness Grey-Thompson

Baroness Grey-Thompson's full title is The Baroness Grey-Thompson DBE. Her name is Carys Davina Grey-Thompson, and she is a current member of the House of Lords.

APPG officer roles

All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) are informal cross-party groups that have no official status within Parliament. They are run by and for Members of the Commons and Lords, though many choose to involve individuals and organisations from outside Parliament in their administration and activities.

Adult Social Care
To act as a forum for members of the House of Commons and Lords to enagage with the wider adult social care sector, with the aim of engaging in a cross-party and non-partisan manner to influence government policy on the reform of the adult social care system.
Assistive Technology
To disseminate knowledge, generate debate and facilitate engagement on assistive technology amongst members of both Houses of Parliament.

To help parliamentarians learn more about and better understand the British Council and its work, at home and abroad, to promote the English language alongside British education, culture and values; and to support the British Council, offering advice and encouragement in both its everyday and long-term work.

To champion cycling and walking in the context of the growing importance of all forms of active travel. Our main aim is to get more people cycling and walking in the UK, more often and more safely.
Diversity and Inclusion in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths
The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Diversity and Inclusion in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) aims to promote the inclusion and progression of people from diverse backgrounds in STEM, and to encourage government, parliamentarians, academics, businesses and other stakeholders to work towards a STEM sector that is representative of the population.

To promote excellence in palliative care and stand against the legalisation of doctor assisted suicide.
Inappropriate Institutional Care of Autistic People and People with Learning Disabilities
To provide a cross-party forum to discuss the issue of the detention of autistic people and people with learning disabilities in Assessment and Treatment Units (ATUs) and other forms of inappropriate institutional care arrangements and to campaign to reduce the use of ATUs and other forms of inappropriate institutional care arrangements.
