APPG officer roles
All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) are informal cross-party groups that have no official status within Parliament. They are run by and for Members of the Commons and Lords, though many choose to involve individuals and organisations from outside Parliament in their administration and activities.

Modern Languages
To explore the educational, skills-related, employment, competitive and cultural benefits of learning and using languages throughout the UK; to provide a parliamentary forum for information exchange and consultation on languages and linguists; to encourage and support policies and action improving the take-up of languages in schools, further and higher education, in the workplace and in the community.

The primary objective of the APPG is to raise awareness of the UN among MPs and Peers; about its contributions across the areas of peace and security, development and human rights; about the scope of international law and its relevance to the UK; and about the applicability of the UN to the British electorate.
