Local Resilience and Civil Contingencies
Fostering dialogue between parliament, local government, the armed and emergency services, businesses and charities to evaluate the effectiveness of the UK's preparedness and ability to respond to locally. To monitor and consider the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and any changes to, or the introduction of, new emergency powers/civil defence legislation.
Population, Development and Reproductive Health
To ensure the full implementation of the International Conference on Population and Development's programme of Action with specific reference to stabilisation of the world's population through choice and ensuring sustainable development in the UK and abroad.
